Document 09a. Deleting old temp files

As time goes by you accumulate more and more temp files all over your computer, these can be downloaded programs, temporary internet files, the recycle bin, etc. Cleaning the system of these files keeps in optimal condition, and it can be done in just a few clicks:

1 - Go to My computer on the desktop, right-click on your hard drive and select Properties:

2 - In the new window that opens click on Disk clean-up to open the clean-up menu (this could take a few min):

3 - In the clean-up menu tick all the boxes but Unused compressed files (as this could delete some files that are still being used), for the rest there is no risk in removing them from your system. Click on OK to start the clean-up:

4 - A little window will open showing the clean-up's progress, this could take a fair few minutes:

Once it has finished, the window will automatically close. Re-do these steps for each of your hard-drives and do not forget to defrag your disks at the end to really optimize your system.
